CRYOTHERAPY: (WBC temporarily unavailable)
Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is the process of exposing the body to ultra-low temperatures (-166 to -220 F) in a controlled environment. The individual is placed in a Nitrogen cooled cryogenic sauna or chamber for a duration of 1-3 minutes which lowers the skin surface temperature significantly and stimulates receptors, activating a Central Nervous System response. This process causes the release of endorphins and enhanced circulation activity which decreases inflammation by clearing toxins, lactic acid and metabolic waste with a supply of oxygenated blood to stimulate cellular regeneration. After the session, the body immediately begins to reheat itself which happens over a period of up to 4 hours.
Benefits include:
- Increase in energy levels.
- Relieve muscle pain and inflammation.
- Improved recovery time.
- Burns between 500-800 calories per freeze
Localized (Spot) Cryotherapy is cold treatment to an isolated area with sessions lasting only 5 to 10 minutes and has benefits that exceed hours of traditional icing. The blood vessels constrict, immediately decreasing inflammation and swelling in the affected area by rapidly flushing the tissue of fluid and waste. If you are injured this is best done 2-4x week in combination with our other therapies.
